So recently I took a break from school to attend the famous slay festival. It has been on my bucket list ever since I saw the success of last year’s event. It was an amazing with awesome people and lessons too. I wouldn’t be a good blogger if I didn’t come here to share what I learned and of course, share my awesome pictures.

  • SUNSCREEN IS ESSENTIAL:
Don’t say I didn’t tell you. After my skin had an encounter with Lagos sun that very day I knew that I needed sunscreen in my routine because I had the sun beating me and burning my skin. I haven’t gotten a sunscreen because I’m not sure of what brand to go for, please comment below if you know any to help a girl.
  • DON’T USE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A WOMAN AS AN EXCUSE;
I will dwell on this for a while because I know more females read my blog. It’s no new news that companies these days prefer males to work for them than females. This was an important topic as women like Betty Irabor and Waje talked about this well. Yes, you’re a woman but that doesn’t mean you should work any less. Buckle up! Not everybody needs to know when it’s that time of the month, get your job done, go home and rest. Pheww!! I just finished talking to myself. Ladies, I’m not asking you to compare yourself to men, I am so against that big time. Just give fewer excuses and more work.slay
  • OPPORTUNITY COMES TO PEOPLE WHO PUT THEMSELVES ON THE RECEIVING END: put yourself out there, show what you can do and remain expectant.
  • RESPECT MONEY, WHEN YOU DO IT HAS A WAY OF COMING TO YOU: treat it right, don’t splurge on meaningless stuff, buy assets and invest.
  • STALL YOUR DISTRACTIONS, FEED YOUR FOCUS: just like how a camera blurs everything that is not the main object, you also blur everything that isn’t your passion for now. Let your distractions be in the background where they belong. Sharpen your focus and you’d have a beautiful image called life.slay
  • DON’T LET YOUR LOVE FOR MONEY OUTWEIGH YOUR PASSION: my loves, in life, don’t let money be your major drive. I choose to let God be my drive because recession or recession, winter or summer, Wakanda or Nigeria (please laugh), I will keep on moving. When money drives you, you tend to fluctuate and your drive determines how you move. So let love and passion drive you every day, not money.slayslayslay
Those are the few things I learned from slay festival. It was really awesome meeting awesome people. The highlight of the whole event was when Betty Irabor pulled me to sit and have a talk with me. I felt like a million bucks lol. I hope you loved this post and you comment your thoughts below. Till next blog post…

  1. I currently use Garnier’s Ambre Solaire sunscreen and I think it’s pretty good. These are all great lessons that you shared. I particularly love the one about respecting money and also feeding your focus. Great post, love your outfit! xx

  2. Nice post…try the neutrogena sunscreen,doesn’t leave a white cast cos I guess the struggle of getting a sunscreen is the fact that u don’t want to look like a ghost after using it…
