Moving on, so like joke like joke harmattan is here, that dry and cold weather. Personally I prefer raining season to harmattan because of the sweet rain, which you know leads to sweet sleep then also no dust like in the harmattan. Harmattan brings out the house girl or cleaner in you because you will soooo clean. Also taking care of our skin and hair is easier in raining season because of the humidity and all.

Personally, this harmattan I promised myself to pay more attention to my hair and skin because I was tired of the dandruff, hair loss, cracked lips, dry scaly skin and breakouts on my face. So I have set up some “must do” for myself and I would love to share them with you because they are working for me.

Drink more water: this is one habit that was so hard for me to adopt. I think during harmattan your no of glasses of water should increase from 8 to 10-12. Carry a bottle of water in your bag wherever you go and just keep drinking. This helps your skin and hair very well.

Moisturize more: I think in harmattan you basically do more of everything. During the raining season I use oils like coconut oil as moisturizer for my skin but this harmattan I prefer using whipped shea butter which I normally make myself. It’s simply shea butter and oils. With this my skin, stays well moisturized for the whole day. For your hair keep your oils close and oil your scalp more often.

Exfoliate: yes its key, you need to get all that dust out of your pores. A good exfoliator is very essential during harmattan. I’m currently using one by beauty formula and its working well.

Cover your hair: your hair actually needs to be protected from all the dust. I recommend a silk bonnet, I don’t have one of my own because I use a silk pillowcase. Pls if you know where I can get one kindly comment below.

A lip balm is a must have: save your lips and get a lip balm today. I had to get one recently and I’m with it all the time.

Thank you thank you, those are the tips I have to share with you  for this harmattan. If you have more tips to share, kindly comment below. Happy New Year in advance loves. Till next blog post…

  4. Babe, thanks alot however, we need some village pics for people like us that the job did not permit to go and enjoy village also, another important tip is to avoid your body from any scratch because the healing is rough this season.
